On the 10th of September, 2002 an extraordinary event important for the history of the whole Buddhist world took place in Buryatia. Priests and medical experts from Ulan-Ude city, inhabitants of Orongoi village and Hurumsha village carried out Hambo-Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov’s wish and opened the sarcophagus. Itigelov’s body was exhumed and placed with honour in Devazhin dugan. Nowadays Lama Itigelov’s body is in Ivolginskii Datsan.
It is astonishing that in 75 years after his burial Great Lama’s body is still in perfect condition. According to the story, he sat in the lotus position, began chanting the prayer of death, and died, mid-meditation…
Galina Ershova, Doctor of History, Professor says everything they have seen is contrary to all our conceptions of what is going on with body after death.
For all this you won’t find any sign of dissection, embalming or other preserving. It is the body of living person! His joints are flexible, soft tissue is crushable and more over after opening the sarcophagus fragrance was coming from it.
Analizing nuclei from Itigelov’s body scientists came to the conclusion that cells are living and nuclei are safe.
Dubna University scientists declare that Hambo-Lama’s body is spread over 18-20 kilometres. So, they connect some events taking place around the world with this huge force. As they point out, the war in Chechnya was stopped and the situation in society became stable with Itigelov’s coming bask.
Pilgrimage to Itigelov increases from year to year. So, 1.300.000 people from different countries bowed to him in 2006.
